There is a very good reason why the order dislikes teenage angst books. This reason is that there are too many people who are paying too much attention to teenagers and their needs. This is a very erratic time in the lives of all humans and none of the thoughts that seem relevant to them during that stage should be considered important.
Teenage angst is childish and unless it has been caused by a seriously bad situation, it makes no sense to be paying attention to them at all. The order dislikes all books that seem to try to make this some kind of special phenomenon. Those who believe that teenage minds are to be taken seriously are the most erratic adults. They never reached maturity and their lives are still centered in being a childish brat, which is the main ingredient and cause of teenage angst in the first place.
My little darling is about to turn 16. I do think her angst is important because she's important. Call me erratic, I can take it. ;)

ReplyDeleteWe have raised 3 teenagers, and it was like ice-skating, if you don't know how to ice-skate. Lots of falling downs, rough hockey plays, etc. They turned out very well.
