Another Batch

Another batch of great quotes from Alexandre Dumas's works and some from himself.

"It's necessary to have wished for death in order to know how good it is to live."

"How did I escape? With difficulty. How did I plan this moment? With pleasure."

"For all evils there are two remedies - time and silence."

"I have always had more dread of a pen, a bottle of ink, and a sheet of paper than of a sword or pistol."

"One's work may be finished someday, but one's education never/"

"Happiness is like those palaces in fairy tales whose gates are guarded by dragons: We must fight in order to conquer it."

"Sometimes one has suffered enough to have the right to never say: I am too happy."

  3. I've liked his works forever and a day, so it's neat reading things about the author.

  5. When I was teaching literature to middle school students, we were reading "Roll of thunder, hear me roar". The author referenced Alexander Dumas as a bi-racial man who had great success.

  6. Great quotes! I really like the first one. Struggles sure make us appreciate the great in life when it finally rolls around.

And education! One should never stop trying to learn!
